Programme Overview

The Bachelor of Education Honours in Natural Sciences is a 4-year degree programme designed specifically for current and aspiring science/mathematics teachers. Conducted by the Department of Secondary and Tertiary Education and Faculty of Natural Sciences at OUSL, this degree builds both scientific and pedagogical excellence.

Admission Requirements

For Level 3 / Level 4

Applicants must have:

• Three G.C.E. (A/L) passes at any number of sittings
• OR equivalent qualifications
• OR successful completion of OUSL foundation/advanced certificate in science

For Level 5

• Passed 60 credits at Levels 3 and 4 (Science courses)
• OR B.Sc/B.Ed degree from OUSL or equivalent
• OR Diploma in Science (OUSL)

For Level 6

• OCAM in all 30 credits at Level 5 or exemptions
• Plus passes in 60 credits at Levels 3 and 4

Course Fees (2023/2024)

• Application Fee: Rs.500
• Registration Fee: Rs.500
• Facility Fee: Rs.2,500
• Library Fee: Rs.100
• Tuition Fee (Per Credit - Levels 5 & 6): Rs.2,870
• Teaching Practice Fee: Rs.7,000

Fees can be paid in two installments: 60% upfront, 40% later.
